A new “treatment” against the covid-19 virus?

Le 10 mars 2020

Still not formalized in China and Europe, it is however the fruit of a meeting between the Chinese pharmacopoeia and Western medicine. 2 doctors from each side of Eurasia speak.

  • Doctor Hania Podwapinska: general medicine and tropical diseases, Brussels

LHCH: A treatment combining western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine is being tested in China, against the covid-19. Basically, it’s the injection of a low dose of liquid phenol (found in aspirin) through 4 vital points of Chinese medicine. Already 800 healings in all! What do you think of this kind of project?

Dr. Podwapinska: First of all, what traditional Chinese medicine can teach us is to treat a problem, not as linked to a single organ like ours, but as dependent on the whole body. It is a “holistic” way of thought.

For the covid-19 virus, there is no effective treatment. Maybe a vaccine for next year. But this Chinese and Western treatment can be somewhat preventive and above all “supportive”. From what I understand, it helps strengthen our natural defenses and provide us with some “interior comfort”. In this, only, it can help heal. To simply put it, I would say that healings are explained by a strong immune system, above all. People who are weaker, like the elderly or those with chronic diseases, unfortunately have little chance of recovery. But support can help. Acupuncture can really, and already helped a lot of people. To be pragmatic like the Chinese, let’s say “In the best of cases, it works. At worst, it is not dangerous. So there is no risk of trying.”

LHCH: So above all, wash your hands, do not socialize with people at risk, stay at home for 15 days if the infection has been confirmed … Another thing that we can do: strengthen our immune defense.

Dr. Podwapinska: Yes. Rushing to pharmacies to buy masks is useless if you are not infected!

  • Doctor Tao Liling, vice-president of the Belgian Federation of TCM and member of the international federation of Chinese medicine societies. Antwerp.

LHCH: How does this Sino-European “supportive” treatment work against covid-19, discussed with Doctor Podwapinska.

Dr. Tao: Dr. Li Yuehua had done blood tests on 15 Chinese people two months ago. He created an unknown treatment in China and Europe from this experience. He learned the lesson from SARS in 2003: traditional Chinese medicine had finally helped to cure 80% of cases of infection. His idea is to use a simple component of aspirin (obviously used to relieve the symptomes of any viral attack) and acupuncture. A very low phenol solution is injected through 4 vital points around the neck, linked to the lungs. 1st point “futu”: regulates Qi energy and “phlegms” in the throat. Related to diseases of asthma, cough, etc. 2nd and 3rd “tiantu” points: they are linked to the larynx and aphasia. 4rd “Dazhui”: respiratory problems, bronchitis, tuberculosis and blood circulation.

Specifically, in places where the covid-19 virus passes into the lymphatic system. Indeed, he had discovered in infected dissected bodies traces of sputum in the lungs. Either the infection is mild and we follow this protocol or the infection is serious and with the injection of phenol, we add the blood of a healed person. The cost of this rapid and effective “supportive” treatment is low. We can multiply clinical trials.

(note: this formula not yet official, is as new and exclusive in our medical system as for traditional Chinese medicine)

LHCH: Do you know any beverages from the Chinese pharmacopoeia that could provide comfort and strengthening of the immune defenses for infected people and, quite simply, a “preventive” approach (beware, not like a vaccine) for everyone in Belgium or other countries in Europe?

Dr. Tao: Yes, I advise to drink two Chinese herbal teas. The first tea : astragalus roots, dried orange peels, honeysuckle, rhizome of atractylodes (Chinese sunflower), reed root and mulberry leaves.

The second tea: honeysuckle, reed rhizome, fatty lalang rhizome, Dahurian angelica root and black cardamom.
