Series: Exclusive&Luxury medical tourism on Hainan Island

Part 2: A Premium Hotel & Resort passionately dedicated to Medical Tourism

Medical tourism consists of seeking treatment in a foreign country for the sake of economy or to benefit from care unavailable in your country of origin. The concept is used more and more by medical actors and other specialists linked to tourism associating the medical act, in particular, the cosmetic surgery, with a tourist approach, often through a supported promotional approach. Another, more clinical definition, medical tourism also concerns sensitive interventions such as organ transplants, support for unwanted pregnancies or the care of people suffering from serious psychological problems. In China, on the island of Hainan, the concept of medical tourism is applied to both definitions through care services of superior professionalism and quality; thanks to the acquisition of the most advanced medical technology in the world and, finally, thanks to a very high-end hotel offer. Extraordinary and exclusive qualities, crowned by the alliance of the best Western medicine with the most authentic and original Chinese medicine. This will be of particular interest to Europeans suffering from chronic or psychosomatic diseases that our allopathic medicine cannot generally treat.

I. THE HOTEL

On the island of Hainan, in the far south of China, the classic concept of medical tourism, like dentistry in Hungary for example, has turned into an ode to inner well-being, to harmony of the body. and the spirit, thanks to the millennial practices of Chinese wisdom taught in the best universities today. Add to these exclusive treatments, a dream stay in a luxury hotel, a few kilometers from the beaches of this tropical island, true Chinese Hawaii, and you will taste this unique cocktail of health and pleasure, invented by Mr. Li, owner of the centers. hospitable and hotel complexes whose quality and beauty defy the imagination.

The LHCH team were fortunate and honored to have been invited to experience for themselves the quality of this new style of Chinese medical tourism. In this second part, we revel in the joys of a Premium Hotel-Resort two minutes by cart from the TCM Center.

After checking in in the huge contemporary Chinese-style lobby, a pretty interpreter leads us to the hotel, explaining, in excellent French, the course of the day’s treatments. From the outset, my room seduces me.

In fact, discovering the space, I discover that it is a small suite worthy of a European 5 star but with Zen, modern and refined decoration. A tea table is installed in the living room. Everything is ready to enjoy a Chinese tea, with a small teapot and delicious small cups. The tea leaves were selected by Yiling, Mr. Li’s company, behind this huge hotel complex and its medical centers. A few fragrant sips of this nectar plunges me into the sweet “oriental well-being” atmosphere of my stay.

In a cupboard, are stored the flexible and traditional linen clothes that I will wear during the treatments. They are renewed every day. They too are from the Yiling brand. Like everything here, the taste is exquisite, local, but innovative and fresh for us.

I throw myself on the bed. The mattress is wonderful for my back. The bedding, extremely comfortable.

Through the open window, I admire the wide Wanquan River on the edge of which extends the Wetland Park which provides the air with precious negative ions, so good for the body. The tropical island is here, with its beaches thirty minutes from the hotel. But the complex is sufficient on its own for the moment.

Decoration, tea service, traditional clothes, relaxing Chinese music on the satellite TV radio,… enough to prepare your little ritual every morning. Inspiration. Evasion…

We ring. The same pretty interpreter comes to pick me up for a Chinese massage at the BOAO YILING LIFE QUALITY IMPROVEMENT CENTER.

At the entrance to the lobby, downstairs, a cart comes to pick us up. In two minutes you arrive in the calm and hushed world of the Chinese Medicine Center that I described in the first part of the articles on Hainan on the LHCH website.

II. EASEHEAL RESTAURANT’S CHINESE DINING AREA

After the morning massage, my body, which has emptied of its toxins, needs a healthy and invigorating breakfast! The huge EASEHEAL restaurant deploys a buffet in front of me that is beyond imagination (400 people can have access to it)! I can indulge in all my desires because the cuisine is dietetic, healthy, light and, of course, its products, all local. To listen to the advice of my interpreter (with whom I also speak Chinese, but let’s check the level !), I start with the salty dishes! All the Chinese cuisine from the provinces of Hunan, Sichuan and, of course, the island of Hainan, is offered to you here, with special attention to respecting the balance of fat and sugar. Then it’s hard not to… continue with a French breakfast, because the Chinese have become pastry aces!

But this all-day restaurant also informs Muslims, vegan, gluten-sensitive people, of the content of dishes that are not specially indicated for them.

In the evening, the LHCH team had the chance to be invited to one of the 7 extremely luxurious private lounges, where the dishes can be declined according to the “Meifu” cuisine (remember the feast in the Peking opera Mei Lan Fang!) For VIPs.

In particular, I discovered that some soups were drunk from tea sets! The center of the round table also consisted of a large turntable. You can’t miss your favorite food, just wait for the wheel of happiness to turn in your favor!

As in the whole hotel, wood and noble materials are omnipresent. This gives an impression of solidity and comfort, the indu bling bling of luxury hotels in Dubai, for example. Here, we will not speak of luxury, but of quality. Nothing too much. And everywhere, a feeling that each object, each accessory is in its place, according to ancient customs.

III. THE WELLNESS RESORT

YIHE PADDLING POOL

Let’s dive into the 2,500 m2 of the three outdoor swimming pools, located just behind the hotel! I obviously chose the adult one, surrounded by palm trees and exotic pavilions. There are cabins inside or outside where you can change. All accessories are provided. The deckchairs are waiting for you on this tropical island where it is 25 degrees on average all year round.

IRE Nano-water Molecular healing CENTER

Two Tongs away, looms the real IRE Spa collaborating with Taiwanese aromatherapy ADVITAM. Are you coming back to a bubble bath infused with herbs and plants? Excellent for relieving stress but also for preventing diseases of civilization (back, anxiety, migraines, etc.). Mini-pools also allowed me to do underwater fitness using ultra-sharp Australian techniques.

EDEN ICE SPORT CENTER

We had been swimming as the summer temperature rose to 30 degrees this spring. So the next day I decided to cool off to minus 11 degrees, if not minus 110 below zero. How? ‘Or’ What ? With “dry” cryotherapy in the form of a shower cabin. There are three compartments: minus 11 degrees, minus 60 degrees and month 110 degrees! But why freeze at these Siberian temperatures? Well, it’s a real recognized therapy that eliminates inflammation, pain, spasms, fever (!), But above all boosts your immunity through the regulation of the metabolism of your cells, the elasticity of your blood vessels. , your biological rhythm (fatigue, anxiety). Cryotherapy also improves your sleep and tightens skin tissue. I tried it and the sensations are incredible. You really feel like your cells are reborn within you! The blood circulates intensely; The energy flows smoothly throughout your body!

The interpreter explained to me that this center was also aimed at more fragile people and, conversely, great athletes to recover quickly after a competition. The Eden Ice Sports Center is also linked to sports medicine and the rehabilitation of the body in physiotherapy through a very close collaboration with the French university center (?) Belonging to the Yiling complex in Boao.

IV. Your BODY will say THANK YOU

I have friends who saved up for two years to spend a month in a motorhome in Iceland. “This is the trip of our life. A dream that we will make a reality, ”they say. But “why not take this trip to Hainan Island? I told them. A week dedicated to your body and your mind, when the atmosphere is so bad in Europe. “Your body will thank you,” as a Chinese doctor once told me after a Qigong session.

To complete this kind of 5-star medical tourism stay, yes it is not over, I still have to talk to you about western medicine diagnoses using ultra-sophisticated machines at a French rehabilitation center in part 3; tell you about oriental psychosomatic medicine with a brush stroke of calligraphy in part 4 (Psychosomatic Medical Center).
